Specialty Classes include popular topics that appear on our calendar a few times a year and one-off workshops from Summit team members or other special guest instructors. Basically everything we think you and your dog might be interested in, even if it’s not part of our "regular” monthly programing! Have an idea or something you want to learn? Tell us about it!

Specialty Classes are not included in our Adventure Dog Club Membership, but members do get priority enrollment + a discount on Specialty Class tuition. Specialty Classes may have some varying prerequisite skills depending on the topic, but are generally open to folks who have dogs that are comfortable in a group class setting, whether you are a past or present Summit student or joining us for the first time!

Agility Foundations

Interested in trying out the sport of agility with your dog? This class will provide you with an intro to the basics of this fun sport, including tricks to learn necessary agility skills, and ways to enhance your dog’s fitness and confidence.

Agility Foundations Prerequisites: Your dog has passed the Skill Check at Level 2 group classes & your dog is comfortable and non-aggressive towards other people and dogs that you may encounter in public settings.


Snake Avoidance

Join us for Rattlesnake Avoidance Workshops all about teaching our dogs Rattlesnake Avoidance using positive reinforcement! you will learn about snake safety & behavior, teaching an alert behavior, and how to turn the sight, scent, and sound of a snake into cues for a reliable recall and alert behavior.

Snake Avoidance Prerequisites: Your dog has passed the Skill Check at Level 2 group classes & your dog is comfortable and non-aggressive towards other people and dogs that you may encounter in public settings. If you believe that you and your dog warrant an exception to this policy based on your previous training together, please contact us before enrolling to obtain instructor approval! Note: There are no prerequisites for the online self-study version of our Snake Avoidance course.

Drink With Your Dog® Brewery Manners

Take your dog's basic skills to the next level and help him or her become the best brewery buddy ever! This super fun class is taught IN A BREWERY and focuses on all the essential skills for being a great brewery buddy - focus around distractions, sleeping under the table, NOT stealing your beer, and more!

Brewery Manners Prerequisites: Your dog has passed the Skill Check at Level 2 group classes & your dog is comfortable and non-aggressive towards other people and dogs that you may encounter in public settings.


Tricks!

Trick skills are a great way to enhance your relationship with your dog - what dog doesn't love doing tricks?! Take a trick class to get started teaching new skills or continue to build on your trick foundations! This is a great way to practice focus around distractions in a fun and entertaining way!

Prerequisites: Completed a Level 1 Skill Check or equivalent.
