Join us to learn about the foundations of good dog behavior in our Level 1: Teen Spirit group class! Our group classes are small groups (4-6 dogs) and offered multiple times a week at our training facility in Fort Collins, Colorado. Our Adventure Club Membership allows you to schedule when you can each week so you never miss a class!
STart here in Level 1 if your Dog is 6 Months & Up!

Your dog has been living with you for a minimum of 7 days. This gives you and your dog a chance to get to know each other a little bit so that you will be most successful at the start of your learning journey!
Your dog is up-to-date on veterinary-recommended vaccinations.
Your dog has no known history of bites directed towards other dogs or humans. If your dog routinely barks/lunges/growls at other dogs, we recommend you start out in our Reactive Dog 101 class instead.

What will you & your dog learn in Level 1: Teen Spirit class?
Strengthen your bond with your dog and set the stage for success, both at home and out in the community! This class combines the essential skills for all dogs with added focus on guiding your adolescent pup through the challenges of their teenage phase. You and your dog will master foundational behaviors like sit, down, stay, loose leash walking, polite greetings, and more, all while learning how to handle distractions and "big feelings" with confidence. With a blend of training games and practical exercises, this class offers everything you need to start your dog on their journey to becoming a well-mannered, focused companion.
These Modules rotate weekly; they can be taken in any order and repeated as needed to support you and your dog.

Build a solid communication foundation and strengthen your bond with your dog. By mastering key focus games like their name and turning away from distractions, you’ll help your dog learn how to stay engaged with you, even in exciting environments.

Build your dog's patience and ability to handle excitement in everyday situations. You’ll practice exercises that teach impulse control—like waiting calmly for rewards—and explore luring basics to help you teach new positions and tricks. We’ll also introduce practical skills to help your dog observe and engage with their surroundings in a calm & composed way.

Develop an "off-switch" so your dog has the skills to transition from high-energy activities back to a calm, settled state. You’ll learn how to teach your dog to relax on a mat, practice emotional regulation skills that support their emotional needs, and discover how to read your dog to know when they need guidance and when they are ready to explore with more autonomy.

Put your dog's training into practice with essential skills for everyday life in categories like coming when called, leash walking, and polite greetings. You’ll build on your foundational work by practicing positions like sit, down, and stand, improving your leash handling for more relaxed walks, and mastering games that help your dog stay focused on you while on the move.

Wildcard Week is the perfect time to address individual challenges or polish the skills that matter most to you and your dog. Whether we’re revisiting concepts from previous weeks, troubleshooting specific behaviors, or learning new and unique concepts brought to class by your Summit trainer, this session provides a flexible, supportive space for you and your dog to continue growing your skills!

Pick the learning speed that works for you! Come to classes once a week, twice a week, or some combination depending on the level of support you and your puppy need.
Schedule your dog’s learning with lots of flexibility! You have plenty of options to schedule your class credits, and there is no penalty for skipping a week of class due to travel or other conflicts.
The Adventure Dog Club Membership flexes with your dog as they Level Up their skills.
When your dog passes the Level 1 Skill Check,
you can jump in to Level 2 classes on the same membership!

Ready to Level Up?!
You and your dog can move up to Level 2 when:
Level 1 Class graduation or equivalent private lessons – If you have taken a Level 1 class elsewhere, you can still join our program at a Level 2 class, but we strongly recommend you consider a Level 1 class with us as well to get the most out of your Level 2 class experience!
Your dog is 6 months or older.
Your dog is up-to-date on vaccinations.
You and your dog are familiar with the concepts of marker training & reward-based training.
Skills: Your dog can settle on a mat with ease and hold that position for a short amount of time.
Focus: Your dog can focus on you around some distractions. We understand this probably isn’t perfect yet, but if you are joining at Level 2 you and your dog should have some experience with this already from your work in a Level 1 class or equivalent private lessons.
