About Workout With Your Dog

Whether you’re looking for motivation to get more active, hoping for a fun activity to enjoy with your dog, or trying to save time by combining your workout with your dog’s exercise needs, this class is a great place to start!

This class blends human fitness with your dog’s need for exercise, engagement, and stimulation. Led by Justine, a certified CrossFit Coach with over 10 years of fitness coaching experience and a certified dog trainer, each session is designed to boost your own health and fitness while supporting your dog’s training and overall well-being.

  • Has taken a group dog training class before OR Instructor approval. If you need instructor approval, email admin@summitdogtraining.com and tell us a little bit about your experience that would make you a good fit for this class!

    • Save time by exercising yourself and your dog at the same time—perfect for busy days.

    • Make fitness more enjoyable and motivating by working out with your dog!

    • Improve strength, conditioning, mobility, coordination, and balance.

    • Strengthen your bond and deepen your relationship with your dog.

    • Practice and improve existing training skills 

    • Learn to shift smoothly between calm focus and active movement.

    • Practice or learn fun tricks such as leg slaloms, backing up, and basic agility skills.

    • Develop better focus and engagement around other dogs and distractions.

    • Build muscle, improve joint stability, and enhance body awareness.

    • Receive a well-rounded mix of:

      • Dynamic Exercise: running, jumping etc.

      • Controlled Movements: balance, coordination, body awareness

      • Training: focusing on their tasks despite movement and distractions

      • Mental stimulation: learning new behaviors in new environments

What Will We Do at Workout With Your Dog Class?

Below is a sample of the basic class structure of your 50 minute group class. This class is limited to 6 dog-human students.

Warm-Up
Gently elevate both your and your dog’s heart rate while loosening joints and preparing muscles for activity.

Skill Building
Learn or review human exercise with proper technique, along with a new skill or behavior for your dog.

Workout
A 15–25 minute session combining strength and conditioning for you, paired with fun tricks, training and physical challenges for your dog. Some movements will have you working together, while others alternate between you and your dog.

Cool Down & Stretch
Gradually bring heart rates down while completing stretching and mobility exercises to support recovery for both you and your dog.
